Medical care in China ranges from basic public hospitals to world-class international facilities. Here's what you need to know.
International Hospitals & Clinics
These have English-speaking staff and accept international insurance:
**Guangzhou:** - **CanAm International Medical Center** — English-speaking GPs and specialists - **Guangzhou United Family Hospital (和睦家)** — Premium international hospital - **Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital** — Has an international department
**Shenzhen:** - **Shenzhen United Family Hospital** - **HKU-Shenzhen Hospital** — Has international medical center
Public Hospitals
- Much cheaper than international hospitals
- Very crowded — expect long waits
- Bring a Chinese-speaking friend if possible
